"Over there we found ourselves imagining Malaysia, a homeland full of nostalgia." from Diaspora - William Tham Wai Liang, pg.41.
Look that beautiful cover!!its blue, its shinny, and its feel like Summer! So, I got this book in Inter. Indonesia Book Fair which held in JCC, Jakarta last month. Malaysia was chosen as Guest of Honor this year, so they have a big booth at the center of fair. I walking down on the booth, talking in malay with one of the staff says that Im looking for a good malaysian book, and maybe she have a recommendation, voila! she give me this book for free. Yay!!
There  is twenty two story inside, written by malaysian author. Theres short stories, essay, poetry, and comic strips. the themes are very diverse, theres horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and contemporary. Nah, I
thought almost every story have a twist, so its not surprise anymore. Other thing that I disappointed about this book is language, I wondering, why its written in english instead malay? I mean the story more rich if they use their mother's language. Besides, theres so many malaysian term, and they not use italics for them. I know that editor think those words (red : malaysian term) are familiar to a Malaysian audience, but hey! you distributed this book in International book fair, thats mean this book will read by foreigner audience. so you should make it different. But I am glad that I understand malay, so i dont have problem read this book. I feeling nostalgic read in malay.
However, i like this book, i can feel melayu ambiance in every story. and got new information like "Wang Kalian".
As bottom line, this book just like a little basket with many fruits inside, some we like, some we dont.

Anyone who love to read literary journal or anyone who never read it and want to try.
Story 1
Red King, Asleep in the Garden - Foo Sek Han

I am eight years and two hours old, and a monster lives in the aatic.
"You dont belong here," I tell him.
In time, you shall think otherwise, the monster says.
A bed of leaves carpets the path to our home, their brown drying remains breaking under my feet. The caopy of durian tree shades the house, and squirrels jump and scatter about on the roof. In the distant hills a gibbons' orchestra tunes low. When I climb the steep, creaking staircase, I expect the golden hue of the stained glass streaked across the floor, lit by the setting sun.
I wanna go - Yuna
Happy reading, fellas!

And as I have found with the other books I have written, at a certain point in the process, a book-in-progress cries out its need for a commitment of more of your time, more of your steady presence, your follow through, your showing up in order to birth itself.   Authors Unite

  12. Wow, your experience at the Inter. Indonesia Book Fair sounds terrific! It's fantastic that you found such a beautiful book with a vibrant blue cover. Speaking of books, reliable behavior management assignment writing services are available if you ever need assistance with a behaviour management assignment. Now back to the text you acquired, it's fascinating to hear that it contains twenty-two diverse stories written by Malaysian authors, covering various genres like horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and contemporary. While it would have been even more immersive to read the stories in Malay, it's great that you could understand them. It's lovely when books evoke a sense of nostalgia and provide new knowledge, like the mention of "Wang Kalian." Overall, it sounds like an exciting collection with its unique charm.
